The Love Note

We LOVE Jess! She is a rockstar wedding planner. Without a doubt, she made our special day what it was and there is no way we could have done it without her. She exceeded our expectations throughout the whole process of planning by being organized, accessible, attentive to detail, caring for everyone involved, and making sure that all our plans were executed perfectly.

Ours was a non-traditional inter-faith wedding which involved planning 6 different ceremonies over 3 days. To make things more exciting, we wanted each event to look and feel different. That's exactly what we got! Each ceremony was unique and so beautifully managed. Even if there were small hiccups, Jess and her team were there to fix it immediately.

A lot of the ceremonies were new to Jess. But she was patient and took her time to ask questions, understand the ceremonies, our vision and how to bring everything together. She guided us through the entire process and added her creative touch to plan and deliver a beautiful wedding.

Jess has a vast network of vendors and contacts in Indonesia. She was able to utilize that to make sure we had the best people to execute the best wedding. Everyone from photographer, videographer, decorators, food, venue, makeup, entertainment, DJs, officiants (and many more!) were top class. This is a reflection of the quality of weddings you can expect when you work with Jess. She surrounds herself with amazing vendors who will deliver your vision as planned.

Jess is highly communicative from the moment you start working with her, from the in-take meeting to the monthly check-ins. It was nice to have someone there to make sure we were on track, giving guidance, and support.

We had a few last minute changes with a few vendors and decor changes. She was able to maneuver everything to make sure it was still within our budget, but absolutely still met our vision. It involved way more phone calls than she probably normally has to do, but we so appreciated her really being in our corner and fighting to make it the best possible outcome for us given the circumstances. When you work with her, she will be your biggest proponent and will do her absolute best to get what you want.

During the days of the wedding ceremonies, Jess and her team took care of everything and prompted each next step when it needed to happen. All we did was have the best time of our lives with our friends and family. We really can't overemphasize how great that was! We trusted her and the result was we got to truly be in the moment of our special day and nothing was amiss.

One of the best wedding decisions you can make is to work with Jess. We HIGHLY recommend reaching out to her and having a chat. You will fall in love with her instantly like we did.

Thank you Jess. We miss our chats and planning the wedding. You made it special. You have our heart!

We asked Sobia & Rahul about their big day —

What made you decide to have a Bali wedding?

Bali is beautiful! Every place is unique and Bali as a city is so diverse. You can choose to explore Bali as a city in itself, have a honeymoon, have a family vacation, or simply just choose to get married there like us! We have families all over the world and so we wanted a central location where our friends and families could travel without the need to worry about complicated visa applications.

Why were you drawn to your venue?

We chose Villa Vedas because it was the right location for our multi-religion, multi-cultural events. It provided the perfect landscape to host the various events in different places. Photos don't do justice to the scale and beauty of the location where you have the ocean on one side and the rice fields on the other side.

Tell us about the bride's most memorable part of the day.

With 6 events it's hard to choose just one memory. We are picking our top 2:

1. Before the Haldi Ceremony, I stood on the master bedroom balcony looking out to the ocean, holding Rahul's hand, and praying together for the rain to stop.

2. During the Hindu Ceremony, my brothers were circling me around Rahul in the rain, with bells ringing, music in the background, my face hidden with betel leaves and emotions so raw.

And what was the Groom's most memorable part of their day?

1. First look before the Nikaah Ceremony.

2. The entire Haldi Event

Do you have any wedding planning advice for anyone else about to tie the knot?

Decide which wedding core elements (venue, decor, food, etc) are important to you before looking into other secondary aspects of the wedding. This will help with budget planning.
