How to keep the dance floor alive

When you think of weddings you have attended in the past, you will most likely remember a few key elements that still stick in your mind - generally how the food / drinks were and if the band and or DJ was amazing and had everyone up on the dancefloor OR if there was no vibe at all.

And we want your nearest and dearest to have fond memories of your day for years to come and nailing this aspect is key!

Here are some tips to ensure your wedding is one to remember with a full dance floor all night long.

Set the Mood Early

An acoustic band or similar will energize the crowd post ceremony and get everyone in the mood to celebrate. Often if we choose the right entertainment to play at cocktail hour guests will be seen having a cheeky boogy before dinner has even started!

Align Your Seating Chart

Seat friends and family who love to dance closest to the dance floor. They'll be more likely to get up and start moving early if they have easy access. And once they're out there, others will follow (some people just need a little encouragement).

Keep Things Exciting

Surprise your guests with something unexpected. Think live entertainers such as water drummers or a live saxophonist! Time it right so they make their entrance just as the toasts / speeches are wrapping up to get all your guests back up and moving on the dance floor and out of their food coma.

Lighting

The unsung hero of a dancefloor in my humble opinion, which most people are blissfully unaware of however this is SO, SO important and if there is no dancefloor specific lighting it makes a huge difference.

PAR LED’S and moving beams set the ambience and make the room & dance floor more appealing, it can also work like a blanket to calm shy guests. The right dance lighting setup ensures all of your guest will get up and dance. The colorful effects and different display patterns signal to everyone it's time to dance! Trust us on this!

Dance

Here's the simple truth: The most fun weddings are those at which the newlyweds are having an absolute blast. Set an example for everyone by getting your happy selves out there as soon as possible. Your guests will notice and be more likely to join you when they see how much fun you're having. And when in doubt, enlist your wedding party. Your reception will be a long, busy evening, so let your crew know beforehand how important it is to you that your guests dance, and ask them to lead the movement to the floor. That way, if you do get caught up talking to guests, they'll have your back.
